DEATILED DAY-WISE ITINERARY
Your best south sikkim tour journey begins with a pickup from Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or NJP Station by the Sarva Enroute team. As we leave the plains behind, the air turns crisp and the scenery transforms into lush mountain slopes. Our first major stop is at Melli for a refreshing riverside lunch by the Teesta. The highlight of the afternoon is a visit to the Temi Tea Garden, the only organic tea estate in Sikkim. Walking through the manicured tea bushes with the hills in the background is a sensory delight. You can even sample some of the world-famous organic tea here. By evening, we arrive in Namchi, the cultural capital of South Sikkim.
Stay: Namchi.
The Today of best south sikkim tour is all about the "Statues of Sikkim." We start with Siddheshwar Dham (Char Dham), a sprawling complex featuring a 108ft Lord Shiva statue and replicas of India's four most sacred Dhams. It’s a masterpiece of architecture and faith. Next, we visit Samdruptse Hill to witness the 135ft golden statue of Guru Padmasambhava, which sparkles under the mountain sun.
A short, scenic drive takes us to Ravangla. After checking in, we visit the iconic Buddha Park (Tathagata Tsal). The 130ft golden Buddha statue, set against the backdrop of Mt. Kanchenjunga, offers a sense of peace that is hard to find anywhere else. The park’s beautifully landscaped gardens are perfect for a meditative evening walk.
- Stay: Ravangla.
We head deeper into West Sikkim today, traveling toward the charming town of Pelling. The drive is filled with views of deep valleys and gushing mountain streams. Pelling is famous for being the closest point to the Kanchenjunga range, offering almost "touchable" views of the peaks.
The star attraction of the day is the Pelling Skywalk, India’s first glass-bottomed walkway. Walking on transparent glass at a dizzying height leads you to the colossal Chenrezig Statue. It’s a thrilling mix of adrenaline and spirituality. Spend your evening exploring the local Pelling market, where you can find traditional woolens and Sikkimese artifacts.
- Stay: Pelling.
Get ready for a day of natural wonders. We start with the thunderous Kanchenjunga Waterfalls and the serene Rimbi Falls, perfect spots for nature photography. Next, we visit the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, often called the "Wish-Fulfilling Lake." Legend says that birds in the area ensure not a single leaf stays on the lake's surface, keeping it pristine.
The afternoon takes a cultural turn as we explore the Pemayangtse Monastery, one of Sikkim's oldest and most prestigious. We conclude the day with a sunset walk to the Rabdentse Ruins. Walking through the stone remains of Sikkim’s former capital gives a "Machu Picchu" vibe, with the sun setting behind the Himalayas in the background.
- Stay: Pelling.
Today, we travel back in time to Yuksom, the birthplace of Sikkim’s history and the first capital of the kingdom. It was here in 1642 that the first Chogyal (King) was crowned. We visit the Norbugang Coronation Throne, a stone structure that stands as a silent witness to the crowning ceremony.
A short hike takes us to the Dubdi Monastery, the oldest in Sikkim, perched on a hilltop overlooking the valley. Yuksom is also the base for many famous treks, and the "back-to-basics" vibe of this village is truly enchanting. After soaking in the history, we drive back to Pelling for our final night in the hills.
- Stay: Pelling.
After an early breakfast, we begin our descent toward the plains. The drive offers one last chance to capture the mountain vistas. We’ll make a final photo stop at the historic Coronation Bridge, an engineering marvel from the British era that spans the Teesta River. Our team will drop you at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) for your onward flight, carrying back the peace and power of South and West Sikkim.
